At Handcrafted, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace for our staff and volunteers, and an accessible, inclusive service for those whom we support in any way.

Handcrafted's Trustees are committed to promoting equality of opportunity and eliminating unlawful practices. Line Managers and Project Managers are Responsible for delivering equality commitments in their areas. All Staff and Trainees are expected to promote and abide by the equality policy [LINK].
As a member of staff or volunteer at Handcrafted, you can expect
- Your job description to include equality objectives and responsibilities
- To be provided with knowledge and skills to prevent discrimination and harassment
- Fair practices in hiring, promotions, and training opportunities regarding various demographics
- Reasonable adjustments for disabled individuals and the consideration of flexible working options
- The right to raise concerns about discrimination, harassment, or victimisation through the grievance procedure outlined in the [Grievance Policy] or by speaking to Dan Northover
Inclusive Activities
- Group Restrictions: Some activities may be restricted to specific groups with particular needs. These activities should be inclusive to all trainees where possible while managing risk.
- Access: Ensure all trainees have access to activities unless specific reasons dictate otherwise.
Addressing Complaints
- Grievance Procedure: You can raise concerns about discrimination, harassment, or victimisation through the grievance procedure available from Dan Northover.
- Employment Tribunal: You have the right to escalate complaints to an Employment Tribunal after using internal procedures.
- Complaints Policy: Trainees and service users can refer to the Handcrafted Complaints Policy for any discrimination complaints.
- No Victimisation: Ensure that anyone who makes a complaint is not victimised.
